Tips for Uploading Pictures

Ofoto Albums

An Ofoto online album is a personal collection of digital pictures. When you email your digital pictures, they are stored on the Ofoto server and shared with all the recipients of the message.

Ofoto tools let you easily

u Add a title, comments, and borders

u Edit your pictures (remove red eye, crop, and more)

u Order film-quality Kodak prints, frames, and cards

u Share your online pictures with family and friends

u Copy pictures into multiple albums

Picture Size

The number of pixels captured by a camera is measured in terms of resolution. High-resolution pictures contain more pixels and produce a better-quality print. However, these pictures have a larger file size and take longer to upload.

To get the highest quality print possible, use each picture in its original size. If there are insufficient pixels to print at the selected size, you will receive a print quality warning when you place an order. Ofoto will print your pictures to the size you selected.

Use the following guidelines to select the size of your picture.

Time Required to Upload Pictures

It can take as little as a few seconds or as long as several minutes to upload each picture. The time varies, depending on the speed of your Internet connection and the picture file size being uploaded.

For example, it takes 2 to 3 minutes to upload a single 400 Kb picture over a typical 56 Kips modem. It may take 30 minutes to upload 10 such pictures at this speed.

Types of Pictures You Can Upload

You can select pictures and movies in any supported file format. Pictures are automatically converted to the JPEG file format before uploading. The original picture will not be changed during this process. Movies are uploaded in their original format (MOV).

Storage Limitations

Ofoto offers free storage of your pictures; however, some restrictions may apply. Check Ofoto Terms of Service to learn more about storage limitations and policies.
